How DriveMyCar Rentals works Owners | Drivers
Owners wanting to rent out a car
Registration and bookings:
- Register online for FREE.
- List your vehicle(s) for FREE.
- Enter your car details.
- Calculate the rental return using our rental valuator.
- Receive email and SMS booking requests from Drivers.
- Accept or decline booking requests within 24 to 48 hours via SMS or email.
- On confirmation, receive the DMCR Agreement for Use of a Motor Vehicle (AUMV) via email.
- Complete and sign the AUMV.
Vehicle Handover:
- Liaise with the Driver to arrange a location and time for car handover.
- Attend the Vehicle Handover on time.
- Conduct a Vehicle Handover inspection and complete duplicate copies of the DMCR Vehicle Inspection Report.
- As the Owner of the vehicle it is important that you return the signed Vehicle Inspection Report to DMCR within 48 hours of the Vehicle Handover.
Vehicle Return:
- Liaise with the Driver to arrange a location and time for Vehicle Return.
- Receive the Drivers return confirmation via SMS and email.
- Attend the agreed Vehicle Return point on time.
- Conduct a Vehicle Handover Inspection and complete and sign the Vehicle Return Inspection Report.
- It is important that you return the signed Vehicle Return Report to DMCR within 48 hours of the vehicle being returned.
Drivers wanting to rent a car
Registration and bookings:
- Register online for FREE.
- Search for rental cars by location and availability.
- Send booking requests to Owners.
- Receive booking acceptance or decline via email and SMS from the Owner.
- Once a booking is accepted, receive the DMCR Agreement for Use of Motor Vehicle (AUMV) via email.
- Undergo a rapid online credit check.
- Complete and sign duplicate copies of the DMCR AUMV.
- For Short Term bookings (1 month) you will be charged the whole rental up front.
- For bookings of more than 1 month, you will be charged the first month in advance.
Vehicle Handover:
- Contact the Owner to arrange a location and time for Vehicle Handover.
- Attend the handover on time, taking your proofs of ID and driver's licence with you.
- Conduct a Vehicle Handover Inspection and complete and sign the Vehicle Inspection Report.
Vehicle Return:
- Liaise with the Owner to arrange a location and time for Vehicle Return.
- Provide return confirmation via SMS and email to the Owner.
- Ensure the vehicle is refuelled and cleaned prior to return and that the vehicle is at the return point at the designated time.
- Conduct a Vehicle Return Inspection and complete and sign the Vehicle Return Inspection Report.
